Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum we need to run Lektora: your Google or Apple account basics, your reading progress, and your subscription status. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and you can delete your account yourself from the app's account settings.

• Account details — when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address, and (from Google) your profile picture. That's all we ask for.
• Reading activity — the books you save to your shelf, the chapters you read and complete, the difficulty level you read at, and your streaks. This is what powers your progress page and lets you resume where you left off.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription and your purchase history, so we know which chapters to unlock for you.
• Feedback — if you send us feedback from the app, we keep your message along with your app version and where in the catalog you were, so we can make sense of it.
• Crash reports — if the app crashes, a diagnostic report linked to your account is sent to us so we can find and fix the bug.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging. We also use the country your connection comes from to decide which books we're allowed to show you there; we don't store it.

• read your email or access anything in your Google account beyond your basic profile.

We use a small number of cookies strictly to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

A few service providers help us run Lektora: Google and Apple (for sign-in), RevenueCat (which manages subscriptions and receives your user ID and purchase history), Firebase Crashlytics (which receives crash reports linked to your account), and our hosting provider (where the app and database live). They process data only to provide their service to us. We don't hand your personal data to anyone else unless the law requires it.

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. Delete your account from the app's account settings and your profile and reading history are removed; residual copies in backups and logs age out shortly after. One thing we do keep: a record of your email address and the reason you gave for leaving, so we can spot patterns and handle any follow-up questions about the deletion.

Your data travels over encrypted connections and lives in access-controlled infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface small — the less we collect, the less there is to protect.

Lektora isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
